Ultrahuman launches Heart Scan – free spot heart rhythm checks for Ring PRO and Ring AIR with FibriCheck

October 7, 2026

‍[7 October 2026] – Ultrahuman has launched Heart Scan, an on-demand heart rhythm check for the Ultrahuman Ring, powered by FibriCheck. Eligible Ring AIR and Ring PRO users in supported markets can access free spot checks on heart rhythm within the Ultrahuman app.

Ultrahuman brought AFib detection to a smart ring in 2024. The AFib Detection PowerPlug has since processed millions of overnight rhythm assessments, sampling through the night, away from the noise of the day.

Heart Scan lets people check what is happening at the moment symptoms occur. Users of Ultrahuman Ring AIR and Ring PRO can take a heart rhythm reading whenever they need, alongside the nightly monitoring the AFib Detection PowerPlug already performs.

An estimated 52.6 million people worldwide are living with atrial fibrillation, and a substantial proportion of cases go undiagnosed².

Afib detection on dual fronts

Atrial fibrillation is hard to catch. Many episodes cause no symptoms at all, so people can carry it for months without knowing. When it does show up, it often comes and goes, lasting minutes or hours at unpredictable times, so a reading at the wrong moment shows a normal rhythm. What’s more, not every irregular beat is Afib. Ectopic beats are common and usually harmless.

AF can occur at rest and during sleep, so overnight sampling from the Afib PowerPlug offers powerful insights. But the new Heart Scan means that if something feels wrong, members can take a reading at that moment and get a result immediately.

Heart Scan is part of the AFib Detection PowerPlug, and is available in supported markets across the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.

How it works

Users start a Heart Scan from within the Ultrahuman app. The feature lives within the AFib Detection PowerPlug, but eligible Ring users can find their free scans on the Ultrahuman Dashboard.

The scan takes 60 seconds, during which the user should keep still. The Ultrahuman Ring reads the pulse signal, which is analysed using FibriCheck's algorithm, and the result appears in the app.

After the scan, a FibriCheck PDF report contains the pulse recording captured during the scan, a tachogram and a Lorenz plot of the intervals between beats, alongside the result. The report is built to be shared with a healthcare professional, so a clinician sees the recording itself rather than a description of it after the fact.

A Heart Scan may return Regular, Possibly irregular, Possible atrial fibrillation, Signal quality too low, or Inconclusive.

"Ultrahuman was the first to put AFib detection into a smart ring with our AFib PowerPlug – now we take it one step further. By partnering with FibriCheck, we can offer clinical-grade rhythm insights to users of Ultrahuman Ring alongside sleep, recovery, movement data, metabolic health and preventive blood markers, to create one of the most powerful consumer health ecosystems on the market," said Mohit Kumar, CEO and Founder of Ultrahuman.

"For years we have worked with Ultrahuman to monitor heart rhythm overnight, processing millions of nightly assessments for Ring users worldwide. Today we support Ultrahuman in adding the other half of the picture: a sixty-second on-demand check people can run themselves, whether out of curiosity or because something feels off," said Lars Grieten, CEO of FibriCheck. "We believe high-end cardiac technology should be accessible to everyone. The better people understand their own heart rhythm, the more they can do to protect their quality of life."

Availability and pricing

Heart Scan is available in supported markets on Ultrahuman Ring AIR and Ring PRO. Eligible Ring users can activate free scans from the Ultrahuman dashboard. Nighttime screening is available via the Afib PowerPlug, priced at £4.90 per month or £49 per year in the UK, and €5.90 per month or €49 per year across the Eurozone.

The feature requires Ultrahuman app version 4.3.0 for iOS and Android version 3.2.0.0

Regulatory status

The rhythm check is FibriCheck's regulated software, operating on pulse signal captured by the Ultrahuman Ring. The FibriCheck software is manufactured by Qompium NV, Kempische Steenweg 303/27, 3500 Hasselt, Belgium, and bears CE marking (CE 1639) in the EU.

Important information

FibriCheck does not detect heart attacks or ischemic conditions. A regular result does not rule out a heart rhythm condition; seek urgent medical attention for severe or sudden symptoms. It is not a substitute for a professional medical diagnosis or treatment from a qualified healthcare provider. Do not change or stop any medication based on your FibriCheck results. Always seek the advice of your doctor or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions regarding your health, a medical condition or treatment options.
